31.10.2019 - Holiday Parks Touring Parks
As the trees shed their leaves we reflect on the memories of what has been a very busy 2019 here at Hawthorn Farm.
During the summer we had the pleasure of welcoming back the Bürstner UK Owners Club rally as well as the Dutch N.K.C rally. We also welcomed students participating in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards from various schools and colleges as they worked towards their bronze, silver and gold awards.
We would like to say a BIG ’Thank You’ to all of our visitors and holiday home owners for their generosity over the season as between them £115.00 and 22 Euros were raised for the Dogs Trust. The Trust has kindly given us a certificate to acknowledge the parks’ contribution.
During September our assessor for the David Bellamy Award Scheme came to visit. A new approach this year meant 2 of our Keat Farm staff based at another holiday park have been overseeing all the Bellamy projects. With their help and the hard work of the park staff here we created our first eco plot; turning an empty holiday home plot into a wild area to attract a variety of wildlife. We are still awaiting the results for this years awards but we hope to maintain Gold again. More projects are already in the pipeline for next year along with continuing to add more bee friendly plants and shrubs so that we can keep our honey bees happy.
Our onsite café has been run by Lesley for the last 14 years but she has now decided it’s time for a rest and to hang up her apron. The staff and customers at Hawthorn Farm wish her all the best for her retirement and would like to thank her for all the great meals and service she has given to us over the years.
The winter maintenance will soon begin, more flower beds are on the agenda as well as the customary tree maintenance amongst other things.
Thank you for visiting us this year and we look forward to welcoming you all back again soon.
