Nearing the end of the season at Quex Holiday Park

26.10.2017 - Holiday Parks Touring Parks

It hardly seems possible that we are coming to the end of the season and what a busy summer 2017 has been!  We have had the opportunity to meet many new touring customers as well as enjoying the return of our regular visitors. We have also welcomed a number of new holiday home owners to the park and wished good luck to those who have moved on.

In our June newsletter we mentioned our pollinator trough and planted watering cans; all of them produced some lovely displays and were much visited by the bees, butterflies and moths. These are just a couple of activities that helped us to achieve Gold again in the David Bellamy Conservation Awards which we are delighted about. We have also been acknowledged as a Honey Bee Friendly Park for 2017/2018 and been awarded a Hedgerow Habitat Badge, for maximising the benefits of our hedges for wildlife. To top it off we are extremely pleased to announce that the park is also a recipient of a Special Distinction Award for our work involving recycling plants, wood etc from around the grounds. One of the projects has been the creation of eco plots on empty pitches. These are low maintenance but keep the area looking tidy whilst they wait for a new holiday home to go on. A great effort by the whole Quex Park team!

Along the same theme, one of our holiday home owners won second place in a local garden competition, many congratulations to them.

The new lavender and rosemary garden that was planted in Robins is currently doing well despite a few early tussles between Les and the rabbits! We hope the garden will continue to thrive.

We are now getting ready to commence work for the removal of the current amenities building and preparing the site for the installation of the new one, which will take place during the coming months.  Busy times ahead!

In view of this our touring park will be closing early and we would like to remind our holiday home owners that if they are here whilst the work is being undertaken there will be no laundry facilities available. (There is however a launderette in Birchington should you need one).
