The essential camping equipment for your trip – Camping Checklist

26.06.2017 - Holiday Parks Touring Parks

The essential camping guide for your trip – here is the complete camping checklist to help you plan and prepare your trip including everything from camping equipment, camping essentials and camping accessories. Try to pack light, depending on your mode of transport and the layout of the site, especially if you will be carrying everything yourself!

Here is a list of camping essentials;

General

  • Tent – the size and layout needed will depend on your circumstances
  • Sleeping bags – zipping up in a sleeping bag is essential when camping
  • Camping beds/airbeds/mats – if you want a comfortable night’s sleep, this is worth investing in
  • Camping chairs – once the tent is up and everything is ready, you will want to sit down and relax. Camping chairs are ESSENTIAL!

Cleaning

  • Bin bags
  • Washing up liquid
  • Paper towels / tea towel
  • Cleaning wipes

Food & Drink

Always check the amenities and location of where you are staying beforehand. There is a convenient shop at each of our parks and local shops nearby should you need it. However, if you are taking all your own food, it is best to take easy-to-cook food;

  • Eggs
  • Bacon
  • Bread
  • Beans
  • Meat (for BBQ’ing!)
  • Crisps
  • Sauces
  • Plenty of water
  • Tea / sugar / coffee
  • Milk

Also – don’t forget a cooler box and ice! Some sites may have on-site fridges but these could get full quickly, or be too far from your tent. Keat Farm sites offer ice pack freezing to ensure your food is kept cool, but we recommend bringing your own cooling storage, just speak to one of our friendly staff on arrival. Please note, Quex Park only accommodates caravans and motor homes. For camping, please visit Hawthorn Farm or Little Satmar.

Camp Kitchen

  • Gas stove (plus gas)
  • Pots & pans
  • Utensils
  • Paper plates
  • Plastic cups
  • Condiments – oil for cooking, butter, salt, pepper etc.

We hope you find this camping checklist useful! Each time you go camping, you will discover what works for you. If there is anything we have missed or something you found you couldn’t live without, please let us know! We are always on the lookout for new ‘Top Tips’ to share with our touring community.
