Hawthorn Farm’s Newsletter…

08.07.2016 - General

The rain on 12th June didn’t stop the fun at Hawthorn Farm’s Tea Party for the Queen’s Birthday celebrations. After battling through the morning’s downpour, a sturdy gazebo kept the party goers dry enough to enjoy the afternoon, with a Pearly Queen singing some Old Time favourites in a sing-a-long. The children took part in finding the “Crown Jewels” on a treasure hunt around the touring park areas, turning their buried treasure into crowns at the craft table in the cafe!

The gazebo over the cafe decking area will now remain for the summer, providing additional seating at the regular bingo & quiz nights. Perhaps on balmy summer evenings it will also provide the perfect place to enjoy an alfresco home cooked meal or a refreshing drink.

Much work has been done to add more bee & butterfly friendly plants to the park as part of our commitment to the David Bellamy Conservation Award Scheme. Our new raised wooden flower troughs include a rose bed filled with pink “Queen Elizabeth” roses to mark our Monarch’s 90th birthday.

A new addition this season is our nature journal, for visitors to record their wildlife sightings whilst here. You can find it in our information office; please feel free to add to it or just have a read; we have already had some lovely comments.

So why not come and stay in White Cliffs Country, where the coast and countryside meet. Relax, watch the wildlife and let us know what you see!
