17.03.2014 - General Holiday Parks
We trust you are all safe and well in spite of the recent weather.
Our winter maintenance programme, whilst nearly completed, has been hindered by the adverse conditions. However, all scheduled structural repairs on the park have been carried out with an ongoing programme set to continue throughout the year. The pitch dividers on the touring field have been replaced, with the old ones being recycled and used for border edgings etc.
The gent’s toilets on the touring field have been refurbished and are now complete, with the ladies scheduled to be completed by the end of the year. In addition to the usual cleaning and painting, this involved the laying and covering of a new floor, re-felting the roof and due to the high winds re-fitting the skylights.
Unfortunately, we lost a number of trees in the storms but luckily no major damage resulted. Our tree surgeons are currently dealing with storm damage elsewhere, so will be with us as soon as it is safe and they are able. However, those trees we have been able to deal with have been returned to the wood line to add to the natural habitat for our wildlife. Some of the branches have also been retained for use in future projects including building our very own bug house!
As you may have guessed the grass is waterlogged at the moment due to the relentless wet weather so please do not drive on it until further notice, thank you.
Our park Wi-Fi reception is soon to be improved by adding a new point to the system so a more efficient service will be available to you.
We are hoping to have details of a wildlife garden competition shortly, where you can enter your own holiday home ‘garden’ if you wish. Our David Bellamy assessor who visited in July last year was so impressed with the ‘green spaces’ you have developed that she suggested this competition to us. So watch out for further information on the new notice board outside reception.
We also welcome back Jan and Pat to complete the team for 2014 and we look forward to what will hopefully be a warm and sunny season.
