3 must do things in Kent this summer – fun for all the family

Make the most of the glorious sunshine this summer with a trip to Betteshanger Park. Only a short drive from Hawthorn Farm and open until 8pm throughout the summer months it is the ideal place to visit with the whole family. Sustainability is at the core of the Park’s ethos, encouraging people to arrive by public transport or cycling, making it extremely accessible. Even better, if you enter on foot or by bike you get free admission. Otherwise admission is £3 per vehicle. There are a range of activities available at Betteshanger Park that suit all ages and interests. Find out more about Betteshanger Park here.

Another must visit destination fit for the entire family this summer is Dreamland Margate. Once one of the UK’s most loved amusement parks, Dreamland reopened in 2015 as a seaside heritage spot where all generations can come together and have lots of fun with the restoration of its vintage rides against the seaside backdrop. Furthermore, Dreamland received additional investment in 2017 which led to the opening of its 15,000-people capacity events space which has already hosted a number of successful music concerts.

The Historic Dockyard Chatham is a must-visit for all the family. A fun attraction for children and great for adults too as it has featured in multiple films and series including Les Miserables, Sherlock Holmes, The Crown, Grantchester, Downton Abbey, and Call the Midwife. Additionally, as one of the UK’s leading maritime heritage destinations it is cultural and educational. A variety of event days run throughout the year, filling the school holidays – great for when you are running out of things to do. Don’t miss out!
