A very warm welcome back to Hawthorn Farm for the 2016 season!
During the winter break a number of projects have been taking place. New parking bays in Cherry, Birch and Hawthorn fields have been created and we hope to add to these at the end of the season.
The tree surgeons have been back, working on the southern boundary, between the hard standing area down to Larch field. Robbie has also been busy reducing the hedge heights in Cherry, Damson and Gordonia fields as well as along the touring toilet block boundary.
The disabled toilet/shower room and the baby changing facility have been modified and updated; meaning we now have a separate disabled toilet plus a separate family/disabled shower room.
Pete has been continuing his good work on the conservation side of things to help build on our achievements to date for the David Bellamy Conservation Awards Scheme. He has added more bird and bat boxes, plus, prepared new areas around the park for the planting of fruit trees and pollen rich plants for the bees and butterflies.
After last years good show of spring flowers, Steve has planted up more areas of the park with different types of bulbs, so here’s hoping they flourish as well as last year!
Beverley and Tracey are in reception again this season. If you have any questions or queries they will be only too happy to answer them.
And finally, just a reminder that the cafe is now open; keep an eye on our website for their up-coming events.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
