11.03.2020 - Holiday Parks Touring Parks
As many people have experienced this winter it has been rather wet here at Little Satmar too. Fortunately, that hasn’t really hampered our office refurbishment which is nearing completion.
A whole new look to the outside with new grey wall cladding plus new windows and doors. Our brand-new reception area is taking shape and ready to welcome our home owners and visitors. We have a new desk and a picturesque wall wrap has been incorporated to coincide with our involvement with the David Bellamy Conservation Award scheme.
We are pleased to have maintained a Gold award in the scheme again and gained two, 5-in-5 habitat badges. One was our woodland badge; achieved by recognising the native trees already on the park and by the addition of some new ones. For our wildflower badge we sowed wildflower seeds and allowed designated areas of the touring field to flourish ‘au naturel’.
The 5 in 5 habitat badge this season is wetlands. It will be a bit of a challenge but we hope to incorporate more bird baths, mini rocks pools and hedgehog water stations on the park. We do have leaflets in the laundry room if you would like to have a go at making any of these yourself.
If you would like to get involved in some local family conservation activities then take a look at the Green Gang. We also have their details if you are interested.
Forms for the Wild About Gardens Awards will be available from reception this spring if any holiday home owners would like to enter their own garden space. Our reception garden won a silver award last year, thanks to the hard work of our gardener Pat. No space is too small as they have a variety of categories to suit all types of gardens.
