Update from Quex Park

19.03.2020 - Holiday Parks Touring Parks

This is a rather challenging time for everyone, with the situation changing on a daily basis. As a holiday park we are currently still open until advised to do otherwise. We are aware of the added level of care we all need to take of ourselves and others and we will ensure we do that.

We do have some people already using their holiday homes and we would like to welcome them back. But for those of you not paying us a visit just yet we would like to let you know what we have been up to over the winter period and outline a few future plans.

The tree surgeons have been on the park, as amongst other things two trees in our touring area needed felling. The wood from these will be re-cycled to create a new eco plot/garden, as two of our previous plots have made way for new holiday homes.  The new water feature we mentioned in our November newsletter will hopefully appear soon as we have been rather busy during the winter with other works.

We would like to welcome our four new holiday home owners who have joined the park since October last year and trust they will enjoy their time here.

We continue to work towards retaining our David Bellamy Gold award as well as this year’s Bellamy ‘5 Habitats in 5 years’ wetlands badge. Keep an eye on these journal pages and our noticeboard for interesting facts in relation to this. We will also continue to support our wildlife by keeping our areas of set aside grass in Robins. Some of our owners in the past have provided water stations for our birds and wildlife and we would really like you to continue to do this. Ideas and information for these can be found on our noticeboard.

Our winter maintenance works programme is ongoing with amongst other things; fence replacement, painting and hedge cutting.  The re-cycling area has had its fence repaired, using appropriately, re-cycled wood and additional lighting is in place. Work will commence soon on replacing the skip area gates.

We have also had the roof replaced outside the office/cafe and again additional lighting has been added. The cafe has re-opened and we welcome back Lynn, who many of you will already know. At the moment we are just operating a takeaway service, please keep an eye on the board outside for the opening hours.

Just a polite notice to anyone coming to the park as the ground is still so soft and wet please do not drive or park on the grass. Thank you and keep well.
